Are the notifications not displaying on your website? You may have Display Rules setup in your campaign that are preventing the notifications from displaying.

You can either wait until all the conditions are met OR edit the conditions to make the notifications appear more often.

Scroll down to see common rules to check, for each notification type.

How do Display Rules work?

Display Rules can be used to ensure that your notifications only display when you have a significant amount of data or user activity.

For example, let's say your website only received 4 visitors in the last 7 days. You'll want to setup a Display Rule to make sure the notifications only appear if you have say at least "100" visitors in the last 7 days.

How to access Display Rules

  1. Edit a campaign
  2. Go to the first step named "Type"
  3. Select a notification type
  4. Click the "Customize" button and a window pane will slide open.
  5. You will see multiple Display Rules for each notification type

Recent Activity notifications

Rule #1 – Only show conversions from the last X days

By default, the notifications will only display conversions from the last 7 days. So you'll want to make sure that your campaign has enough recently tracked conversions to meet the minimum display rule.

For example, if your campaign is setup to only display conversions from the last 7 days and you only have 5 conversions in the last 7 days, then your notifications will not display until this condition has been met.

Rule #2 – Only display if there are at least X conversions

By default, the notifications will only display if there is at least 1 conversion. You may have changed this to something like "5" conversions – in this case, please make sure that there are at least 5 conversions tracked in the last X amount of days (see Rule #1 above).

Rule #3 – Prevent visitors from seeing their own notification

If you have this featured turned on, you will not see your own test conversion. Try viewing the display url in Private Browser mode. This will trick Proof into thinking you are a different user.

Live Visitor Count notifications

Rule #1 – Only display when there are at least X active visitors

By default, this notification will only display if there are at least 2 active visitors. You may have changed this to something like "7" active visitors – in this case, please make sure that there are at least 7 users online.

Here's one way to check and meet the minimum required active visitors...

  1. Make sure the minimum is set to "2" active visitors
  2. View this same display url in Private Browser mode. This will trick Proof into thinking there are 2 unique visitors on the page.
  3. Open your display url in a normal browser and see if the notifications appear

Notifications still not appearing? You can also open the display url on your mobile device to add another active visitor to the mix.
